Žinau, kad yra įvairių niuansų.  Tikslesnis kontekstas:

"A couple needs to constantly work hard at a relationship.  It should 
never be taken for granted. "

(O tie žodžiai turbūt visai kitaip būtų verčiami sakinyje: "It can be 
taken for granted that there will be no more cheques authorised after 31 
December." ?)
