Crowds of Brexit supporters swelled into the thousands 
outside the British parliament building on Friday, the 
day the country was supposed to leave the European Union.

Legislators addressed the crowd, one after another.

Nigel Farage, the former leader of the United Kingdom 
Independence Party who led the country toward the 
referendum three years ago, was cheered as he expressed 
his determination to fight the political turmoil.

One participant said he took a day off work because 
he thought that what was happening was not right.

Another said he thinks they have been betrayed and 
lied to. He said he can't understand why Britain is 
not leaving the EU after being told it was going to 
happen on this day.
